Allergic Reactions / Hives
“When a Flying Jalapeño Popper Strikes!”
That moment when you encounter a flying jalapeño popper (bee or wasp) and get more than you bargained for. Allergic reactions can come on suddenly and look dramatic — but knowing when to watch and when to act makes all the difference.

Common causes:

First aid:
• Cold hose — yes, again!
• Keep them calm and quiet
• Remove the trigger if possible (plants, sprays, rugs, etc.)
Most allergic reactions are self-limiting, so it’s often okay to give them a bit of time while closely monitoring.

• Any breathing difficulty
• Rapid worsening swelling (especially head or throat)
• The animal becomes systemically unwell or collapses
Don’t wait for it to “settle” — allergic reactions can escalate fast.
