7 Days to go… Road To Sydney Royal
Only 7 days to go until we leave for Sydney Royal, and I honestly can’t believe how quickly it has come around.
After months of preparation, planning, riding, fitness work, and all the little things that go into getting a horse ready for something this special, it finally feels real. This week feels less about the hard work and more about trusting everything we’ve already done. I’m feeling really happy with how our preparation has gone.
Looking back, I truly feel like we have done everything we could to make sure Angelo is ready. The fitness work, regular riding, outings, and all the extra attention to detail have all been building to this moment. Our final hack show on the weekend was such a perfect way to head into the countdown. I was absolutely thrilled to finish with Supreme Champion and Hunter Horse, which was such a lovely confidence boost heading into next week. It was one of those moments where you quietly think, okay, we’re ready. All the work we’ve been doing to get Angelo fit, strong, and feeling his best really seems to be paying off, and that gives me such a good feeling heading into Sydney.
Now it’s time to enjoy this final week. The focus is keeping everything calm, happy, and relaxed — for both of us. A few easy rides, keeping him feeling fresh, getting all the gear organised, and trying not to get too excited. Although if I’m being honest… I already am.
This has been such a special journey already, and I’m so excited for what next week will bring. Sydney Royal, here we come.
