3 Days to go… Road To Sydney Royal
Only 3 days to go now until we leave for Sydney Royal, and the excitement is definitely starting to build. It’s funny how quickly the time has gone from “we’ve got plenty of time” to suddenly being in the final few days. Everything is starting to feel very real now.
This week has been all about keeping things calm and making sure Angelo is feeling happy, fresh, and ready. The hard work has already been done, so now it’s about trusting the preparation and not overdoing anything. I’m really happy with how he is feeling. He’s fit, looking fantastic, and all the work we’ve put into getting him ready seems to have come together perfectly.
Now the focus has shifted to all the little things that come with getting ready to travel. The gear is starting to be packed, rugs checked, boots cleaned, show gear sorted, and of course making sure I haven’t forgotten anything important. There’s always that little voice in the back of your mind wondering if you’ve packed everything! It’s such an exciting part of the journey though.
There’s something really special about these final few days — the mix of excitement, nerves, and anticipation. After all the months of preparation, it’s nearly time to head off and enjoy the experience we’ve been working towards. I’m feeling incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. To be this close now is something really special, and I honestly can’t wait to get there.
Mel and I have definitely done some serious shopping in the lead-up to this!
From clothes to horse rugs, new tack, and everything in between — we may have gotten a little carried away… but it’s all part of the fun.
We’ve even put together a dedicated show team collection, which has been so exciting to see come to life. Between pieces from Earlwood Equine, Ippico, and Hampton and Harlow, everything is really starting to feel complete.
The new Equestrian Style logo, created by Flying Change Productions, has been embroidered onto everything thanks to our amazing local team at Wear It — and it’s all come together better than we imagined.
This trip is so much more than just a competition. It’s a holiday, an experience, and a dream we’ve been working towards for a long time.
We’re planning to soak up every moment and enjoy every little part of it.
Next stop… Sydney Royal.
